I recently saw a blog post from a teacher about how the kindergarten classroom built an igloo out of milk jugs. I thought to myself--I have the space to do it, I just need the milk jugs. So I have been canvassing free cycle, friends and locals on facebook to save their milk jugs for me. I have had such a wonderful response. I need about 500 milk jugs to complete my project. I was going to wait until I had them all before I started, but the jugs were taking up more space then I had, so I started construction. So here is the pre and beginning construction of what I hope to be the 'coolest' play spot in town:)
Some of the jugs come clean enough that I don't have to rinse out, but the ones that don't, I slosh them out with hot soapy water then dry them out. It took a while, but I devised a plan to dry them out pretty darn good.

This is the ultimate drying method for cleaning the jugs...garden fence. |

This is what 150 milk jugs look like. |
I will take better pics and figure out how to rotate them....but this is the base of the igloo. it is 82 jugs around.
I will post again once it is completed, which pictures in the correct orientation:)
